Wartime Vehicle TourDuration – approximately 2 hours. This is a unique opportunity to experience a ride in an early model 1942 Dodge Command Car, to begin with mainly used for the transportation of high ranking officers and then went on to become the principle radio/communications vehicle for the US Army during WW2. A few of these vehicles came ashore at UTAH Beach on the 6th June 1944 and were some of the first US vehicles to arrive in Sainte Mere Eglise (See Photo). You will travel in this concourse vehicle from Sainte Mère Eglise to Utah Beach and back, stopping at the Leclerc monument, German strongpoints and the Utah Beach museum along the way. You will experience what many GIs did at the time, winding down narrow Normandy lanes, taking in the unmistakable smell of canvas and the distinctive sound of the engine – unforgettable. NB.
