Choice of Standard Tour (set itinerary) or a Private Tour by commission (flexible itinerary).

Standard Tour

Join up with other like–minded people. In this instance, for everyone’s common interest, we adhere to a strict timetable to ensure everyone completes their agenda. We expect customers to meet us at the C47 Cafe, in the center of Ste. Mère Eglise. Pick ups can be arranged from Cherbourg, Carantan and Bayeux at an extra cost of fifty euros.

Private Tours

Can be commissioned by families or a group of friends, between 1 to 8 people. You can either follow our suggested itinerary, or by prior arrangement we can help you to devise your own. You have much more flexibility to adjust timings or change the destinations along the way. Pick ups can be arranged from Cherbourg and Bayeaux, with a fee of 35 euros. Pick ups from Carantan are free of charge.

Step–on Tours

Any of the above can be conducted in your vehicle. We expect customers to meet us at the C47 Cafe, in the center of Ste. Mère Eglise.

Insurance Cover

Our insurance covers you while you are in our minibus for normal traffic incidents (similar to your own car insurance). It does not cover you for personal injury, if for example you slip whilst getting in or out of the minibus. It does not give you any other cover. Details of our policy are available on request.

We therefore strongly recommend you have sufficient personal holiday/travel insurance for visiting the battlefield sites; please remember you will be visiting battlefields and not a theme park. We will do our best to advise where there are dangerous locations, but can accept no responsibility for any mishaps.

Personal belongings are not covered by our insurance, either in the minibus or at the sites. We strongly advise that all passports and valuables be kept with you at all times, and you should have your own insurance to cover these items.

Practicalities

Clothing: please wear suitable outdoor clothing for visiting the Normandy countryside. Waterproofs and walking–boots are always a good idea.

Uncontrollable Adverse Circumstances

Itineraries can be subject to change or cancellation if events occur which are outside of our control due to:

• Extreme bad weather, when the weather would make travelling or walking outside too dangerous.
• Local road closures or traffic conditions making access to a site impossible.
• Museum closures.
• Vehicle breakdown.
• Staff sickness.

We will do everything in our power to provide an alternative agenda to allow you to make the best use of your time.

Your Wellbeing

For the wellbeing of all customers, the management reserves the right to deny admission to any individuals who might jeopardise your tour in any way, at any time.

All customers will be required to sign a form before the start of each tour as proof that they have fully accepted the D–Day Battle Tours terms and conditions.
