Most of our D-Day tours begin in the American sector, where US forces came ashore at Omaha and Utah beaches. We visit the Normandy American Cemetery on the bluff above Omaha, the clifftop battery at Pointe du Hoc scaled by the US Rangers, and Sainte-Mère-Église — one of the first towns liberated in France and home to the church where paratrooper John Steele hung from the steeple. With our base in the heart of Sainte-Mère-Église, this is ground we know street by street.
Further east, our D-Day tours take in the British landings at Gold and Sword beaches and the Canadian assault at Juno. Highlights include Pegasus Bridge, captured in the opening hours of the invasion, the remains of the Mulberry harbour at Arromanches, and the German gun battery at Longues-sur-Mer — one of the few Atlantic Wall positions that still holds its original guns.
